Can Vijay become PM? Can C Joseph Vijay, commonly known as just Vijay, become India’s Prime Minister in 2029? The actor-turned-politician, currently serving as the ninth chief minister of Tamil Nadu since May 2026, is one of the most talked-about politicians in India.
The founder and president of the political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), the 52-year-old, before entering politics, was a leading actor in Tamil cinema and among the highest-paid actors in India. With the support of smaller allied parties, Vijay was sworn in as chief minister on 10 May 2026.
