Q1) Yogi government is asking for votes on topics like the fulfillment of promises related to the construction of the Ram temple and improved law and order in the state. Akhilesh Yadav is asking for votes on the issues like rising unemployment and inflation. What do you think who people will vote for?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: BJP government has failed to fulfill 90% of its promises made in the election manifesto in 2017. It said that it will double the income of the farmers. Tell me has it happened? BJP never believes in fulfilling its promises. It has done politics based on religion.
Q2) For now the UP Polls 2022 appears to be a battle mainly between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Samajwadi Party. Do you think that in the coming days you will be able to bend this election in your favour?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: It appears that there is an undercurrent for the Samajwadi party and people of the state want to see Akhilesh Yadav as their CM.
Q3) Salman Khurshid has announced that UP polls will be fought under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. If she declares that she will be the Congress Party’s CM face then will it make the competition tough for Akhilesh Yadav and Yogi Adityanath?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: At present, the Congress Party has not enough mass base in the state. Only our party has enough might (to challenge BJP).
Q4) Both, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Congress Party have declared that they will not go for any alliance. They have decided to go alone. Even the Samajwadi Party is not ready to enter into an alliance with other big parties. So is this the end of alliance politics in UP for the opposition?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: Our experience with big political parties is not good so we have decided not to form an alliance with other big political parties. However, we have kept our doors open for small parties.
Q5) This time in the UP Polls 2022 two new political parties are entering- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). Do you think AAP will be a threat?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: See it’s a democratic setup and every political party has the right to fight elections. What matters is whom people are supporting. People of the state know that these parties can cut votes but they cannot form the government.
Q6) SP has a good Muslim voter base. Do you think that the entry of the AIMIM will make a dent in that voter base of the party?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: We are a secular, socialist party and we have support from all. People know very well which party is deserving and they will vote accordingly.
Q7) Will Kisan Andolan benefit your party in the upcoming UP Polls 2022?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: See, I do not believe in the politics of benefit or loss. The fact is farmers are saddened by the BJP. At last, farmers will be victorious and these black laws (New Farm Laws) will be taken back.
Q8) Nowadays we are hearing about different schemes/projects being launched in UP. Your reaction to this.
Ujjwal Raman Singh: These new schemes/projects are nothing but just political gimmicks. BJP’s schemes are benefiting people only on paper they have no ground reality.
Q9) Aam Aadmi Party has started its political journey in UP from Ayodhya. Its leaders are claiming that they are governing Delhi on the lines of “Ram Rajya”. Now, BJP and AAP both are seeking the blessings of Lord Rama. On which party the Lord will bestow his blessings?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: I believe that politics and religion are two different subjects that should not be mixed. But the BJP has tried to mix these two. Lord Ram is of everyone. The Aam Aadmi Party is walking on the path of the BJP.
Q10) It is being said that when the Samajwadi Party comes to power criminal activities in the state rises. If this time voters choose SP, will it be able to provide a better law and order situation than the Yogi Adityanath government?
Ujjwal Raman Singh: It’s just a perception that under our party law and order gets loose. Undoubtedly, as far as serious serious criminal activities are concerned, the Samajwadi party has provided far better law and order than the Yogi Adityanath government.
