The gruesome murder of Saurabh Rajput (29) by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla has shocked the nation. The incident occurred on the evening of 4 March 2025 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, the victim’s body was sliced into 15 parts and shut inside a cement-filled drum.
Saurabh Rajput – Muskan Rastogi marriage
In 2016, Saurabh and Muskan were married. Reportedly, it was a love marriage. Saurabh resigned from his position in the Merchant Navy so that he could spend more time with his wife. The decision was disliked by his parents. As tensions grew, the couple shifted into a rented home in Meerut city. In 2019, Muskan gave birth to a female child.
Interestingly, Saurabh, who was working in London, returned to India in February to celebrate the birthdays of his wife (25th Feb) and daughter (28th Feb).
Extramarital affair of Muskan Rastogi
After the birth of their daughter, Saurabh came to know that Muskan was engaged in an extramarital affair with her friend, Sahil Shukla. The investigation revealed that Muskaan and Sahil were childhood friends. They studied together from first to eighth grade. The revelation of the affair led to chaos in the couple’s relationship. As per reports, divorce was considered. However, the ex-Merchant Navy employee chose to remain in the marriage for the sake of his daughter.
The murder of Saurabh Rajput by Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla
On March 4, 2025, Muskan and Sahil allegedly drugged Saurabh by mixing sedatives into his food. They were plotting Saurabh’s murder long back!
Once the hubby was unconscious, his wife and her lover killed him and dismembered the body into 15 pieces using sharp tools. To hide the heinous act, they placed the body parts inside a large plastic drum, filled it with cement, and sealed it.
Saurabh Rajput murder: Investigation on!
On March 19, both culprits were arrested, presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court, and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. They are lodged in Chaudhary Charan Singh district jail in Meerut.
