Q1) Have the divorce filing cases increased in India in the last 10 years?
Koshima Arora Gumber: In the last 10 years, based on data, matrimonial cases have almost doubled.
Divorce cases are increasing day by day. Compared to rural areas, the cases are growing rapidly in urban areas. It could be also because, in metropolitan areas, these things are reported. In rural areas, matrimonial disputes are reported less.
Q2) Husbands or wives, who are filing for divorce more?
Koshima Arora Gumber: See, we can’t have a set format on this. Generally, husbands seek divorce, and wives go ahead with other cases like maintenance.

Koshima Arora Gumber: Yes, of course. We all are busy on mobiles and giving less time for communication. People are investing their major chunk of life on social media.
