In Banaras city of Uttar Pradesh, a controversy is going on regarding the land on which the Gyanvapi mosque is located. Claims are being made that it is constructed on the ruins of an ancient Shiva temple. However, I will not touch that topic. Right now, I will talk about a well which is located adjacent to the mosque. The name of the well is Gyan Vapi (Well of knowledge). Legends hold that Lord Shiva had dug the well himself!
