Developed by the Israeli cyber arms firm NSO Group, Pegasus is a spyware that can be covertly installed on mobile phones. As per reports, it is capable of reading text messages, tracking calls, location tracking, accessing the target device’s microphone and camera. The spyware software is named after the mythical winged horse Pegasus.

According to some international and national media reports, mobile phones of some top people of the country were hacked/compromised/tried to be hacked with the help of this Pegasus spyware software. Modi government rubbished the entire issue as baseless.
