National president of ABVP Dr S Subbiah

Congress, DMK and Left parties have connived to defame Dr Subbiah and organisation: ABVP national general secretary Nidhi Tripathi

In an alleged harassment case, the complaint against the national president of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Dr S Subbiah was withdrawn and “misunderstandings between two families now stand cleared”, said national general secretary of ABVP Nidhi Tripathi, in an official statement, received by anuragsason.com, on Saturday.

“The complaint against National President of ABVP Dr S Subbiah has been withdrawn by the complainant Balaji Vijayaraghavan from the local police station. Misunderstandings between two families now stand cleared and all issues between the two parties have now resolved,” read the official statement.

A 62-year-old woman, living in Chennai, filed a complaint against Dr Shanmugam for harassing her following an argument over parking slots. Shanmugam, however, denied the charges.

“From day one, both Dr Subbiah and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) were stating the facts about the misunderstandings emanating from the parking issues but political vultures were indulging in slander and character assassination of Dr Subbiah Shanmugam,” the official statement further said.

Nidhi Tripathi, in the official statement, alleged that “Congress Party and its frontal wings, DMK, its leaders and the Left parties have connived to defame Dr Subbiah and ABVP.”

“Congress Party and its frontal wings, DMK, its leaders and the left parties have connived to defame Dr Subbiah and ABVP; and have done terrible damage to the reputation of Dr Subbiah‘s family. Their slanderous campaign has posed a threat to the safety and security of Dr Subbiah and his family,” the statement said.

“Two families residing in the said colony in Chennai have jointly signed a document to the satisfaction of both parties. We hope this statement puts to rest all allegations being levelled against Dr S Subbiah,” it further added.
