It was a shocking Sunday for me as I heard the news that one of the finest actors in Bollywood Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide. He committed suicide at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra. Earlier this month, on Instagram, the actor had shared a post dedicated to his late mother.
I (Anurag Sason) met him once in August 2017 and took his interview for the abplive.in (English news website of ABP News). At that time, I was working with ABP News.
During my exclusive conversation with the actor, which lasted for around 15 minutes, I realised that not only he was a splendid performer but also a humble, intelligent, and good person.
When it comes to films, he did many experiments. When I asked him a question related to it, Sushant Singh Rajput replied, “Things that excite me, engage me are the things that I don’t know how to do but I want to do.”
The actor was a self-made man. He had no godfather(s) in the film industry. When I sought his comment on this, the actor laughed and replied in a lighter way.
“I have a God and I have a father,” Sushant replied.
When I asked him about his struggle in the film industry, he replied in a very positive way.
“No, it’s not struggling. When I worked in the theater, I used to get Rs 250 and that was also a happy phase of my life. It’s not that at that time I was thinking that one day I will become a film star and I will be happy. I was happy at that point of time too,” he said.
I wanted to see more of his films. Alas! That won’t happen now. May his soul rest in peace.
