New Delhi: Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, a video is being circulated in social media showing some Domino’s Pizza employees making pizza without wearing safety gears like masks or hand gloves.
In the video, the person behind the camera can be heard objecting.
However, when I (Anurag Sason) reached out to the famous American multinational pizza restaurant chain and asked for clarity regarding the video, the company said the footage is not related to any recent event.
“At Domino’s, we are committed to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests and employees. This video is not related to any recent event as our dine-in section has been closed since 23rd March to ensure social distancing,” said Domino’s Pizza.
“The employee being seen in the video has not reported since 23rd March. We would like to assure you that we have further strengthened our hygiene and sanitation protocol. As a part of that process all our employees are mandatorily wearing masks in every store. In addition to mandatory hand sanitization, we have made the process even more stringent. All our pizza makers are wearing gloves for handling food products, so your favourite pizza is Untouched By Human Hand,” the company further added.
It is pertinent to mention here that to prevent the spread of COVID19, the government has ordered strict hygiene guidelines and only allowed takeaway in restaurants.
