To retain power in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) under the leadership of its national convener Arvind Kejriwal is working day and night to woo the voters. Every other day AAP is releasing video messages in which Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal enlightens about the achievements of his government.
The party has even come up with an official campaign song लगे रहो केजरीवाल (Keep doing good work Kejriwal)
One of the posters of the AAP reads अच्छे बीते 5 साल, लगे रहो केजरीवाल (Past 5 years passed brightly, keep doing good work Kejriwal).
However, after seeing this I am quite shocked. In the past five years, Arvind Kejriwal on several occasions alleged that the Modi government (Centre) has not allowed his government to work!
In the past five years, if the Centre has been not allowing him to work then how come these years were “good” for the Delhi government. And if they were “good” then the Modi government must have allowed the Delhi government to perform its duties.
In my recent, exclusive interview on Delhi Polls, veteran Congress leader Sharmistha Mukherjee pointed out that “Delhi government under Arvind Kejriwal has always looked for excuses”.
“In Delhi, the Congress government had worked and delivered. If there are any differences between the state government and the Centre, it has to be sorted out on the table. There is no need for shadow boxing. When we could deliver under the same system, set up then why can’t the Kejriwal government? Delhi government under Arvind Kejriwal has always looked for excuses.”

I believe that when political parties plan their election campaigns, they should keep in mind what they had said in the past so that there should be no “mismatch”!
On 8 February, Legislative Assembly elections will be held in the national capital to elect 70 members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The results will be declared on 11th February. The term of the current assembly (elected in 2015) will expire on 22 February.
Out of his busy schedule, if Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal gets some time to read my this opinion piece then I will love to know from him that what he exactly wants to say from this statement–अच्छे बीते 5 साल, लगे रहो केजरीवाल?
