Cost of building Taj Mahal Vs Central Vista project: Interesting facts about 7th wonder of the world | Anurag Sason

A magnificent example of Mughal architecture, the Taj Mahal has always attracted tourists from not only India but all over the world. It not only symbolises love of a husband for her late wife but also marks the zenith point of the Mughal dynasty. Known for its grandeur and detailings, this ivory-white marble mausoleum has always impressed people from all walks of life.

However, building such a mammoth structure costed the then Mughal emperor Shah Jahan dearly. Reportedly, it was constructed in 21 years (1632-1653) and the estimated cost was around Rs 32 million. At present day, it is equal to Rs 70 billion (about US$ 1 billion). If you want to compare the Taj Mahal with some present projects, the Central Vista project is one option. However, it is a bit costlier than the Taj Mahal. Reportedly, the cost of the project is US$ 1.8 billion.
